3. Material and Property of Foam Filled Fender
3-1. Structure of Foam Filled Fender
(1) A center shaft consists of Steel Pipe with flange on both sides. Lug, which is Swivel structure and for contracting, is attached to the flange.
(2) By heating fusing polyethylene fire tape, it each layer stacks.
(3) On external stacked PE-Foam, it reinforces with nylon thread, applies Rubber and shapes incrustment.
3-2. Foam Core

3-3. Surface

4. Inspection and Test
4-1. Measurement Test
An allowable error in shape dimension of Foam Filled Fender is like following.

4-2. Material Test and Compress Test
A manufacturer of Foam Filled Fender should submit the following 3 tests’ result sheets and get approval on those prior to a material delivery.
(1) Test in Material
A test above the main material of Foam Filled Fender, PE-Foam and Rubber should be conducted by executing request to an authorized inspection agency. An acceptance criterion should satisfy article “3-5” and “3-3”.
(2) Test in Function
When compressing 60% of Foam Filled Fender’s diameter, absorbing energy and reaction’s value should satisfy an article “3-5” functional value. (Pilot Test)
(3) Test in Recovery.
During load removal after compressing 60%, it should recover 90% of compressing diameter within 2 minutes and to 90% within 30 minutes.
